Jason David Ian Puncheon is an English professional footballer who is currently attached to Southampton. He is able to play on the left or right wing and sometimes plays just behind the striker. Following his goal against Everton on his Blackpool debut, he has scored in every division of English league football, scoring for Barnet in League Two, Milton Keynes Dons and Southampton in League One, Millwall in the Championship and Blackpool in the Premier League.

On 31 January 2011, Puncheon joined Blackpool on loan until the end of the season. He made his debut, scoring a goal, at Everton on 5 February. He scored his second goal against Chelsea on 7 March at Bloomfield Road.

Puncheon re-joined the Saints after Blackpool's failed attempt to fight off relegation, though looks set to leave as both the player and the club wish to part with each other; Adkins doesn't see him as part of his Championship squad for 2011-12 and the player himself would prefer to try for top-flight football.

On 6 July 2011, Puncheon was linked with a move to Southampton's Championship rivals Portsmouth The following day, Puncheon confirmed, via his agent, that he would be very interested in a move to the club. With two years remaining on his deal, a release price of £450,000 has been suggested.
